You woke up today. Not necessarily a hard task to do, but sometimes even that feels exhausting.
With a lot of places still closed, post-quarantine life has a lot of people in a funk that they can’t seem to escape. Here are a few ways to try and get yourself out of that funk and help you be more productive during these unexpected times.
-
Write lists
One way I have stayed sane is by writing lists of what I have to do for the day. The satisfaction I get after crossing an item off my list gives me a little boost to start the next task.
-
Go outside/Go for a walk
Enjoy time alone outside or go for a walk with a family member. For me, my mom and I walk most nights around the neighborhood. It has helped me stay in my right mind by giving me a distraction from the stressors of the house, AND it has strengthened my relationship with my mom. All around plus.
-
Read a book
Whether it is fiction or nonfiction, reading a book can help you escape the funky routine you find yourself in. I, personally, have two books I am reading. The first one is a growth mindset book while the other one is a fantasy book with vampires and werewolves. I definitely recommend finding at least one book to read during this time and even when things go back to “normal”.

Do a workout (of course I’m going to add this one)
Exercising releases endorphins, which trigger happy feelings in your body. You may not feel good before or even during, but after a workout, I feel accomplished with myself for doing it even though I may not have wanted to.
