There are two things that are top priorities in life: my family and helping people.

Growing up, I was the skinny, weak girl, last to be picked for a team in P.E. In high school, I swam competitively for three years. Although I loved swimming, I always dreamed of being stronger. In 2010, as a stay at home mom and avid mountain biking fanatic, I was concerned my weekly trips to Alafia and Boyette trails were not frequent enough. I began CrossFit to stay in shape for my weekend mountain biking. I was excited and a little scared. Prior to CrossFit, I had never lifted heavy weights in my life. I had never even held a barbell. Little did I know I would love it so much!

Through CrossFit, I have learned so much about myself. I am capable of much more than I ever thought possible. I am stronger and healthier now, at 40 years old, than at any other point in my life. I want this for every. single. person.

My husband, Javi, and I started FitCity CrossFit for one simple reason: to help people. On this journey, I have rediscovered my passion for nutrition and combined it with our goal of building strong bodies and minds for people of all ages and abilities.

When I first began at FitCity CrossFit in January of 2015 I was looking for a workout that would take me to that next level. Previously I had done some weight lifting, and was a pretty decent runner, but I was looking for something that would bring it all together. Right from the first workout, I knew that this was it!

From the great training of the coaches, to the moral support from everyone working out, I was inspired to push myself and improve my physical condition. Now, a year and a half later, once again with the support of the coaches and the members, I have pushed myself to a new level of performance as a trainer! I am so excited to have this chance to educate and inspire others about fitness!

Chandree Dostal

Everyone has a journey and path that leads them to find themselves. Some take longer than others. For me, it took almost 40 years. I’ve heard good things come to those who wait and it rings so true for me. I was born and raised in Miami to Cuban immigrants and moved to Tampa in 2002. I got married and had 3 boys. They are amazing boys that keep me on my toes; inspired and motivated to become a better mom. I once heard that the best gift a mother can give to their child was to take care of herself. Those were the words that led me through the doors of FitCity CrossFit. I was a stay at home mom who would occasionally work out either at a gym or at home with a DVD. Barbells, the CrossFit lingo, the workout atmosphere were all so foreign to me yet once I took the leap, I felt like that is where I belonged.

 I am so amazed by how CrossFit has impacted my life that I want to share it with others. I want people to feel the same sense of pride and accomplishment that has been a part of my journey. I want people of all ages from kids, teens, adults and senior citizens to look back on a workout that seemed impossible and beam with the confidence of realizing “I DID IT!”. In short, I want to help everyone who is willing to work hard to become a stronger and healthier version of themselves.

Alina Llanos

I have been around CrossFit for nearly half of my life. The constant goal to better myself was always in my mind. Becoming a coach seemed like second nature, except for the public speaking aspect. Now, having faced that fear, I have no problem standing in front of my class and working with clients.

As an 18-year-old female, I was concerned about the level of respect I would receive. However, during and after my extensive internship, my FitCity community accepted me with open arms, respecting me and my certification without a second thought about my age.

Outside of the gym, I am honors student at Land O Lakes High School with a specialization in Culinary Arts. I am also a full time Dual Enrollment student through Pasco-Hernando State College where I am on track to graduate with over 60 college credit hours towards what will be a B.A. in Astronautical Engineering.

Corey Dittino

What got me into CrossFit?  Keeping active is something I’ve constantly enjoyed, so when things in life weren’t going as planned, I decided I needed something to get me back on track. While growing up, being active and competitive was just a natural part of who I was, so CrossFit was a perfect match.
I started CrossFit in 2014. I liked the variation in the workouts and especially the intensity. I found challenging and competing myself with others fun and inspirational. Working out has never been about being in shape for me, it is just a byproduct. The workout is where I find my ZEN place.
The FitCity coaches guided and pushed me. I started listening closely to the lessons in technique and focusing on my nutrition. The journey let to feeling better both mentally and physically. CrossFit became more than just my daily way of dealing with the frustrations of life.  I had resolved that I wanted to share this experience with others and felt the next step was to become a coach. Being part of the FitCity team, actively helping people go above and beyond what they thought was their limit has become the main reason I continue to push myself and others.
