Last week something strange happened. I nearly cried mid workout.
Today my meditation manta: I am still. I am calm. I am at peace.
Needless to say, my stress level these last couple of weeks has been tested as my family adapts to our new norm. And so far with meditating nearly daily, staying on track (mostly) with healthy food, scheduling my workouts and resting as much as possible each night, I am passing the test.
All of this is to say…put the oxygen mask on yourself first, so you can help your loved ones in an emergency.
Life will present us with so many challenges. Deadlines, health scares, emergencies, family crisis. Anxiety, joy, fear, excitement, overwhelm, and so many more feelings are waiting for us each and every morning. The action steps we take daily build either a foundation of strength or instability.
I know I am not alone. I know many of you are dealing with heavy burdens. Let us tackle these challenges and build support beams strong enough to withstand the heavy load we carry daily. Let it be without expectation of perfection. Let the positive actions alone be a source of strength. Let us not create expectations of what we think the outcome should be. Instead, let us take pride in putting the oxygen mask on first so we can help others.
