In 2019, the most common New Year’s resolution was to “exercise more.”
I am going on record now proclaiming 2020’s most popular NY resolution will be the same, nothing shocking there! Don’t get me wrong, I am in full support of this goal. It is, after all, a fantastic goal!
But the biggest problem with New Year’s resolutions is that they often lack two key components: a deeper meaning and an action plan.
I challenge you to get to the deeper reason behind WHY your resolution is important by answering the following questions:
How will it change your life? How will it impact those around you? WHY is it so important to you?
Once you’ve got a deeper WHY, it will be your actions that get you closer to your goal.
Write down 3 realistic action steps you can commit to helping you accomplish your goal.
Don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t go 100% according to plan, because life rarely does. (I know how hard this can be. With practice, I am getting better and so can you!)
New mantra for 2020— Remain flexible and enjoy the journey!
