Hey Kids, This One’s For You!

I totally get it, it can be hard to pick going outside and playing over playing video games or playing on your great new tablet you got for Christmas. What if I tell you that you can play outside and still have time to play games on your new tablet? You most certainly can! All it takes is 30 minutes a day. Here are some fun outside ideas you can try at home:

Go for a bike ride! Take mom and dad with you or invite your buddy next door to join you. Bike rides are a fun way to get your cardio in. Plus, who doesn’t like to go fast!

Shoot some hoops! Shooting some hoops or kicking a soccer ball around is a great way to practice your ball game and teamwork skills. Grab your siblings, parents, and even your neighbors to get in on the fun!

If it’s a rainy day and you can’t go outside, here is a great indoor workout you can do:

5 Rounds of:

  • 5 push-ups
  • 10 sit-ups
  • 15 squats

You can even put on your favorite jams while you do this workout!

30 minutes a day is all it takes kids! I challenge you to take 30 minutes after you get home from school and just play. Get moving! Dust off your bike seat, grab mom or dad, and go explore the neighborhood. Challenge your siblings to a friendly game of basketball or soccer. See who can get through all five rounds of the workout above. Fitness can be fun. Fitness is fun! You just have to take the time to explore how much fun it can really be.
