Rules and Regulations
The Basics
- If you sign up, then show up.
- Attend class often, arrive early and leave late. If you have finished your WOD then we encourage you to cheer and clap for you classmates until they are finished. We are a team at SHC CrossFit.
- Be on time. Lateness will result in penalties. If you are 10 or more minutes late, the instructor will send you home.
- Full out effort = RESPECT
- Pay attention to what is going on around you, if you are not mentally prepared you will not be physically prepared.
- Turn cell phones to silent or leave them in the car.
- When you become a member of our gym please join our website, www.shccrossfit.com , become a fan of SHC CrossFit on Facebook, become a member of Beyond the White Board, www.beyondthewhiteboard.com , participate in all gym events when possible.
- Visit HQ www.CrossFit.com daily, watch videos, read articles, and purchase the CrossFit journal if needed.
On the Floor
- Once you are on the floor it is game time. Warm up properly, set up your workout station, know what your weights are, workout as intensely as possible. If you stop to chat during the WOD, you are not working hard enough.
- Clean up your spot when done, this includes mopping up, using disinfecting wipes as needed, and putting all of your gear away.
- You are here to learn how to CrossFit, so please pay attention and respect your instructors.
- Nobody cares what your score was. Everyone cares if you cheated. DON’T CHEAT.
- Accidents and injuries happen, mostly due to impatience. Slow down, scale when needed, ask questions.
- If you don’t tell us what’s wrong we won’t know. Always communicate.
- Pull ups are chin over bar, not chin to bar.
- Squats are bottom to bottom, and crease of hips below knee.
- Push-ups get dirty because it is chest to floor, not chest just above floor.
- Don’t expect immediate results.
- Don’t worry about how you look, worry about how you perform.
- Empty barbells and kettle bells are not meant to be dropped so please don’t do it. Only barbells loaded with bumper plates may be dropped.
- Work hard, be safe, and have fun.
