<p>ü  4 person teams</p>
<ul>
<li>Teams will be constructed by a blind draw</li>
<li>1 Pitcher &amp; 3 Fielders * (unless player is benched for backward K)</li>
<li>Everyone must pitch at least one inning.  One player may pitch 2 innings.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 3: The Field</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  Pitcher’s mound 40’ from strike zone (37’ from home plate)</p>
<p>ü  Dead ball line is 10’ from home plate</p>
<p>ü  Single line is 10’-50’</p>
<p>ü  Double line is 50’-70’</p>
<p>ü  Triple line is 70’ – to the fence</p>
<p>ü  Foul lines are 80’ from strike zone</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 4: Reaching Base:</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  4 balls is a walk</p>
<p>ü  Any ball that crosses the single line in fair territory is a single.</p>
<p>ü  Any bobbled fly ball or grounder that lands in the single territory is a single.</p>
<p>ü  Any ball that crosses the double line in fair territory is a double</p>
<p>ü  Any bobbled fly ball or grounder that lands in the double territory is a double.</p>
<p>ü  Any ball that crosses the triple line in fair territory is a triple.</p>
<p>ü  Any bobbled fly ball or grounder that lands in the triple territory is a triple.</p>
<p>ü  Any ball that goes over the fence in fair territory that does not hit the ground is home run</p>
<ul>
<li>If a ball hits a player and goes over the fence it is still a home run</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 5: Making an out</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  Any combination of 3 strikes (swing or foul ball) is an out</p>
<p>ü  When a batter is caught looking at a strike (it is an automatic out and the player can’t play the field the next inning.</p>
<ul>
<li>Caught looking is an out no matter what the count is (even if it’s on the first pitch)</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Field a ground ball cleanly it is an out</p>
<ul>
<li>You may bobble the ball but once it hits the ground no out is recorded.</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Catch a fly ball cleanly it is an out</p>
<ul>
<li>You may bobble the ball but once it hits the ground no out is recorded.</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  3 outs per inning.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 6: Runners and Scoring</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  We use ghost runners (teams are too keep track of where runners are)</p>
<p>ü  Ghost runners advance the number of bases that the batter hits.</p>
<ul>
<li>Example:  Runners at 1<sup>st</sup> and 2<sup>nd</sup> and batter doubles.  One runner scores and the other runner advances to third base.</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  In the event that a fielder makes and error the batter/runner advances the number of bases in zone in which the error occurred.</p>
<ul>
<li>Example.  A fielder drops a grounder in the triple zone it’s a triple, all runners advance 3 bases.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 7:  The game</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Which ever happens first</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  5 innings (team with most runs wins)</p>
<ul>
<li>If tied after 5 innings (the game is tied)</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  30 minute time limit (can’t start a new inning after 30min)</p>
<p>ü  12 run slaughter rule after 3 innings</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 8: Tournament Field</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  Round Robin format (4-6 game guarantee depending on number of teams)</p>
<ul>
<li>6 or 7 team tournament there will be one division.</li>
<li>8-10 team tournament there will be two divisions.
<ul>
<li>During round robin play each team gets 2pts for a win and 1pt for a tie.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Playoffs (Top 4 teams)</p>
<ul>
<li>With one division the top 4 teams advance to playoff seeding</li>
<li>With two divisions the top 2 teams from each division advance.
<ul>
<li>In the event of a tie for a playoff spot the most runs scored by each team will be a tie breaking method (obviously the most runs scored wins the tie)</li>
<li>If total runs are a tie then a coin toss will be conducted, away team calls it.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<p>ü  Playoff round #1</p>
<ul>
<li> Seed 1 vs. 4 and Seed 2 vs. 3</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Title Games</p>
<ul>
<li>Winners of round #1</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Playoff game tie breaker</p>
<ul>
<li>If game tied after 5 innings or 30 minutes then each will get one chance to bat to score the most runs.</li>
<li>Each team will start with a ghost runner at second.</li>
<li>This method will continue until there is a winner.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section 9: Umpiring &amp; registering game scores</span></strong></p>
<p>ü  Teams are responsible for the game umpiring.</p>
<ul>
<li>Batter will determine if ball hit strike zone or strike zone base</li>
<li>Pitcher will determine fair or foul balls</li>
<li>Fielders will determine single/double/ or triple</li>
<li> Batter will determine if a bobbled ball hit the ground</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Any arguments will result a re-do.</p>
<ul>
<li>Tournament Director (Ben Evans has the right to toss any player for being unruly)</li>
</ul>
<p>ü  Winning team is responsible for registering the score in the official tournament bracket sheet.</p>
<p>ü  Each team is responsible for tracking their own scoring during the game</p>
